Grace is for All!
OUR THRIVENT CHAPTER
is getting ready to launch a project in which all ten churches in the Chapter
will participate. Pastor George Hutchings, known as the "Shoeman", has
made it his mission to bring clean water to Kenya one pair of shoes at a time.
To fund his clean water initiative Pastor Hutchings collects used shoes and
sells them at 35 cents a pound to a local recycler. He uses the proceeds to
purchase drilling wells and towing vehicles. The Shoeman Project is about
more than just clean water. The project makes affordable shoes available to
thousands in South America who cannot afford new shoes. HOW CAN YOU HELP? A
container will be placed in the church narthex February through April where you
can leave shoes. This project will run through 2010. After our collection date
ends, shoes will need to be brought to Lois Wehmeyer in Fellowship Hall’s
kitchen before or after Sunday Bible class. So grab your old shoes, tie the
laces together, or put a rubber band around them, and drop them off!
10TH ANNUAL WOMEN’S DAY OF
RENEWAL will be hosted at Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL on Saturday, March 13 from 7:45 AM - 3:30
PM. The theme is Encouraged in Heart-United in Love. The keynote speaker,
Dr. Mary Hilgendorf, will remind participants that Scripture is full of eternal,
life-changing answers for women who live in challenging and uncertain times.
Attendees will be able to personalize their experience with two workshops. A
continental breakfast and catered lunch are included in the cost of $30.00.
After February 28 the registration fee is $35.00. For registration forms or more

to get to know other Grace Chapel members, post high school through their
forties, to enjoy fellowship, fun, and the love of Christ. Look for our events
